Not what is, but what can be
In my life and my work I like to think about what can be, not what already is. My background in philosophy and distance running yield an approach stressing careful thinking and long-term results.
As a human, I love spending time outdoors. My preferred activities include distance running (100+ miles at a time), snowshoeing, camping, and reading.
As a scientist, I love code writing, looking forward (a.k.a. grant writing), and figuring out the best ways to communicate results. My best days at work are days where I'm free to try new things, but I'll admit that sometimes deadlines make nice targets too!
